Summer Hours

Please note the Village Hall will begin Summer hours on Friday, May 23, 2025. The Village Hall will be open from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday & 8:30 am until 12:30 pm on Fridays.

Dates: May 20, 2025 & September 23, 2025
Times: 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. until truck is full
Location: Cuba Township Road District, 28160 W. Cuba Rd, Barrington

LRS Street-side E-scrap collection will be May 20, 2025 and September 23, 2025. These dates are on your regular refuse collection day. The following regulations apply.

  • Limit 1 TV or monitor per customer and up to five (5) additional items.
  • Electronics must be placed outside the night before. LRS will come early and only do a one-time pass. If you miss the date, LRS will accept a drop off at their Wauconda office, 1350 N. Old Rand Road.
  • Place electronics by the recycle bin, DO NOT place the item inside the recycle bin. If you have small electronics (such as wires) place in a box by the garbage/recycle bins.
  • NO kitchen appliances will be accepted (i.e., mixers, hand-held blenders, etc.)

The Village offers recycling for small electronics, shoes and holiday lights. The last date for holiday light recycling is March 31, 2025.

Project Update

Grassmere, Haverton, and Oaksbury Pond Drainage Improvements Project

For many years, the Village has experienced flooding on Haverton Way, Route 59, and in the Oaksbury Subdivision. The cause of the flooding is due to failed drainage systems that traverse private property. These drainage systems that are mostly open drainage channels, old drain tiles, and swales through the Haverton on the Pond subdivision, Grassmere Farm subdivision, and Oaksbury subdivisions have been failing for many years.
